The latest Health Science North 50/50 draw winners have been announced, with Patrick and Loralee M. of Capreol receiving the $498,900 prize.

“I was out at camp doing some yard work while my wife was in town babysitting our granddaughter when the phone rang,” Patrick said in a media release issued by the Health Sciences North Foundation.

“I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. It had to be a hoax. I couldn’t even get a hold of anyone in the family to tell them the good news. I just buy tickets to support. You never expect anything like this to happen.”

Asked about what he might spend the money on, Patrick said summer at the lake was top of mind.

“Y’know, I was looking at buying a used pontoon boat but now, I might as well get something new,” he said.

The July HSN 50/50 draw is live at www.hsn5050.ca, and as of Sunday afternoon had hit a grand prize of $73,658.

This month’s draw features a $15,000 early bird draw on July 7, and two $5,000 bonus cash prizes on July 14 and 21.

The deadline for a July 50/50 ticket is July 27, and the draw is on July 28.
