Greater Sudbury's jobless rate dipped below seven per cent last month, outperforming the provincial rate by a significant margin.
Statistics Canada reported last week that 6.9 per cent of job seekers in Sudbury couldn't find work in November, compared to 7.3 per cent in all of Ontario. The national rate was also 6.9 per cent.
The number of people working increased by 200 compared to October, when the rate was 7.2 per cent. At the same time last year, the jobless rate was 6.5 per cent, although the number of people in the workforce has grown to 83,400 this year, compared to 80,900 in 2012.
