Every Wednesday, seniors who do not have a means of transportation anxiously await the arrival of the grocery bus at Finlandia Village.
Gino Rocca, the store manager at Vrab’s Your Independent Grocer, has supported this initiative for many years.
This activity supports the residents at Finlandia Village with their weekly grocery and errand run, said a press release from Finlandia.
But more than that, it has become a highly anticipated social outing where neighbours are able to meet neighbours, and engage in their daily living with the support of much needed transportation.
“Kiitos to Gino and the team at Vrab’s Your Independent Grocer for supporting the many seniors that call Finlandia Village their home,” the press release said.
