The former Knox Presbyterian Church building in downtown Sudbury has been listed for sale for $495,000.
The church closed its doors last October. Media reports indicate this was due to a dwindling membership as well as vandalism and maintenance costs.
The building has been listed by Royal Lepage, with Paul Kusniercyzk listed as the broker.
“Most recently a church, this very well maintained 10,000-square-foot building presents endless possibilities in Sudbury's downtown area,” said the listing.
“The zoning bylaw under C6 (Downtown Commercial) allows for multiple uses including multi-residential, office, retail, medical office, brewpub, and many other options. The main floor of the Church has high cathedral ceilings and an upper balcony.
“The lower level features a large hall, stage area, a large kitchen and two washrooms. The main level of the rear addition contains a couple of offices, a large meeting room and a washroom. The upper level contains a large room that was utilized for Sunday School.”
Knox Presbyterian is just one of several downtown Sudbury buildings that have been listed for sale recently, including the 86,225-square-foot Scotia Tower.
