Dr. Graeme Mount taught classes people actually wanted to attend.

When he was working in th Department of History at Laurentian University, students were eager to hear what he had to say.

“Best professor I have ever had, never wanted to miss his class,” stated a post on the website Rate My Professor.

“Spectacular,” said another.

For those who learned from him, and for those who missed the opportunity, Mount is speaking at the April 7 service at St. Andrew's United Church at 111 Larch St. Lunch and a conversation about “Three Possible Solutions” will be offered.

Mount began teaching and researching at Laurentian in 1969. He worked there until he retired in 2005. During that time, he taught things like Canadian and American relations, United States History, 20th Century global history and Latin American history. He wrote 17 books and travelled extensively, visiting 79 countries along the way.

In 2000, Mount won the LU Award of Excellence in teaching.
