Sudbury's Legend Boats has been nominated for the Ontario Business Achievement Awards' small and medium-sized enterprises excellence award.

The awards ceremony, hosted by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, will take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on Nov. 29.

The annual awards recognize businesses across the province for their achievements in areas including sustainability, innovation, market expansion, entrepreneurship and exporting.

Legend Boats, a division of Duhamel & Dewar Inc., was originally founded by Vic Duhamel and Carl Dewar and now is led by the next generation of managers, Marc Duhamel, Jeff Duhamel and Jamie Dewar. Starting as a local tire shop more than 48 years ago, today, Legend Boats has evolved into one of Canada’s largest boat manufacturers.
