Legion grand reopening

On Saturday Feb. 2, Branch 591 Royal Canadian Legion in Britt hosted a grand reopening following renovations funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
On Saturday Feb. 2, Branch 591 Royal Canadian Legion in Britt hosted a grand reopening following renovations funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

The honoured guest at the festivities was Norm Miller, MPP for Muskoka/Parry Sound, who cut the ribbon to officially reopen the renovated building. Also in attendance was District H Commander Ed Pigeau.

Following the ribbon cutting guests toured the premises to view the renovations which include four handicap accessible washrooms, a lift to each level, a new roof over the building, new kitchen facilities and appliances retrofitted to the Ontario Fire Code, upstairs bar with cooler, renovated downstairs bar, work on both entrances, and new lighting in the banquet hall.

The branch offers its facilities for public meetings, social events as well as weekly Friday evening dinners that are open to the general public.
