Legion’s Remembrance Day poster, literary contest opens soon

Students from Grades 1 to 12 can submit entries for the yearly competition

Students take note: the Royal Canadian Legion’s annual Remembrance Day poster and literary contest begins accepting entries this month.

The competition is open to English and French students from Grades 1 to 12, both those in the school system or home-schooled. Entries can be in the form of a poster, an essay or a poem.

Information on the contest can be found at all schools in Greater Sudbury by the middle of this month. General information can also be found online here.
  
All entries must include the student’s full name, address, phone number, age, grade and name of school, including the address. Signatures are no longer required.

Legion Branch 76 (1553 Weller St., office hours 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.) in Minnow Lake accepts entries from students in Minnow Lake, New Sudbury, Copper Cliff, Garson, Falconbridge, Coniston, Markstay and Wahnapitae. If you do not live in these areas, check with the Legion branch in or near your community.

Winners in all categories and grades will be awarded medals, certificates and money for first, second and third place. 

Entries must be received by Nov. 12.
