Greater Sudbury firefighters battled a fire in Levack on Friday night that caused more than $100,000 in damage to a home.
Six people were evacuated from the 1 ½ story residence on Cedar Street in the community, but there were no injuries, Greater Sudbury Fire Services said in a news release Saturday.
A total of 25 firefighters from four stations were called out to battle the blaze, which cause moderate fire damage but severe smoke damage.
“Develop and practise a home fire escape plan,” fire officials said in a news release. “In case a fire starts, everyone must know two ways out of every room, if possible. Get out and stay out.
“Don’t try to save possessions – go directly to your meeting place outside.”
