Lively 6th Ave. skating rink to open Jan. 1

The official opening of Lively's 6th Avenue outdoor skating rink will take place Jan. 1 at noon. The rink has been moved back to its original location on 6th Avenue after having been previously located on 1st Avenue.

Free six-week learn-to-skate programs will be offered at three neighbourhood outdoor rinks this winter for children ages 6 to 12, who want to learn to skate and improve their basic skating skills. File photo.
The official opening of Lively's 6th Avenue outdoor skating rink will take place Jan. 1 at noon.

The rink has been moved back to its original location on 6th Avenue after having been previously located on 1st Avenue.

The facility was the topic of a recent community meeting by newly-elected Ward 2 Coun. Michael Vagnini. Residents were unhappy about the rink being relocated.
