Local group strike it big

Theresa Sawyer of Hanmer was doing her normal opening routine at the store where she works with five other co-workers when she checked the group's tickets. She was surprised to see they had matched the last six numbers on ENCORE and won $100,000.

"Theresa called each of us as soon as she found out about the win and I was sure she was mistaken! When it sank in we were all excited!" said Kimberly Fex, one of the six group members to share in the ENCORE prize from the November 24, 2007 draw.

The four other group members are: Robert Plourde, Colombe Cayen, Natalie Rancourt and Janice Wilson, all of Hanmer.

The group of six coworkers at Depanneur Plourde Mini Mart have been playing as a group for the past three years. They each have plans for their share of the windfall including paying bills and sharing with family.

The winning ENCORE ticket was purchased at Depanneur Plourde Mini Mart on Highway 69 North in Hanmer. Since the winners are retail employees, the win was verified through OLG's "Retailer Win Policy and Procedures".
