Cathy Orlando, group leader of Sudbury's Citizens Climate Lobby, will be in Washington, DC June 19-21 for the International Citizens Climate Lobby meeting.
Orlando is one of six Canadians attending the meeting and will receive “additional training on being (an) effective citizen lobbyist, and then meet with at least 100 members of Congress and the Senate,” according to a release.
The group states climate change is a “non-partisan issue,” and lobbyists are seeking to create the “political will for a stable climate....by communicating and building relationships with politicians of all stripes.”
