Residents of Coniston, Wahnapitae, Markstay and Sudbury, including New Sudbury, may notice low water pressure on Thursday, March 31, during a scheduled temporary shutdown of the water main feed from the Wanapitei Water Treatment Plant for upgrades to its treatment system.

Residents will continue to draw municipal water from the Ellis Reservoir during the scheduled shutdown between 5 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 31.

To compensate for limited water supply, residents are asked to reduce water consumption whenever possible.

Residents who notice discoloured water once water pressure is restored are asked to run the cold water tap closest to their water meter for several minutes until water is clear of any sediment from water pipes.

In the event of prolonged discoloration or low water pressure, residents are asked to call 3-1-1.

The City of Greater Sudbury thanks residents for their patience and cooperation during these essential capital improvements to the Wanapitei Water Treatment Plant.
