LU set to unveil yet another major funding announcement

Deputy premier to be on hand for 'major infrastructure announcement' for university

Laurentian University is set to reveal yet another major funding announcement tomorrow, the second the school has made this month.

Back on Sept. 6, LU announcement more than $100 million in funding, including a $10-million donation, for its Metal Earth project and for its Department of Earth Sciences, which was renamed the Harquail School of Earth Sciences.

Tomorrow (that's Sept. 23), the school will be unveiling yet another major announcement.

On hand for the event are Liberal MPs Marc Serré (Nickel Belt) and Paul Lefebvre (Sudbury), as well as Energy Minister and Sudbury MPP Glenn Thibeault and Deputy Premier Deb Matthews.

The announcement will be made at 11 a.m.
