Greater Sudbury Mayor John Rodriguez's mother, Gloria, passed away Dec. 28 at a hospital in Toronto. She would have celebrated her 92nd birthday today (Dec. 29).
Gloria had been living with her husband, who is in his late 90s, in a nursing home in Scarborough. She suffered from a number of illnesses.
The mayor's secretarial staff weren't sure when Rodriguez would be back on the job, but said he would probably focus on taking care of his dad for at least the next few days.
