George Middleton was chair of the Sudbury Catholic District School Board when the board held its last meeting of the 2007/2008 school year on June 17.
However, by the mid-summer board meeting in August, Middleton had vacated the position. He told Northern Life on Wednesday he stepped down "for personal reasons" and that he "made the announcement in August."
Minutes of the Aug. 19 meeting published by the board say, "Paula Peroni assumed the chair." Peroni served as vice-chair in 2007/2008 and is a former chair.
Trustee Jody Cameron was elected vice-chair on Aug. 19. Middleton will continue to serve on the board as a trustee.
