The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum?s (CIM) annual general membership meeting will take place Thursday, April 17 at 7:30 pm in the Science North Cavern.
The guest speaker is Fred Edwards, director and vice-president of mining technology for Kvaerner in Toronto. He will speak about his experiences while working as a consultant on several projects and feasibility studies in northern Russia.
As well, the Sudbury branch of CIM will present Jon Gill with the District 3 Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his long career in mining. Gill just recently retired from Inco Ltd.
