Minor electrical fire at architecture school building in Sudbury

Deputy fire chief reports minor smoke and water damage

Greater Sudbury firefighters responded to a call on Elgin Street Sunday morning at the McEwen School of Architecture building located at the corner of Elgin and Elm Streets.

Smoke was visible coming from a door on one side of building, according to witnesses.
Jesse Oshell, Deputy Chief at the Greater Sudbury Fire Services, said it was a minor incident. Two trucks were rolled out to respond.

"We did have an electrical fire contained to one area in the building. It was isolated and the power was shut off," Oshell said.

"There was minor smoke and water damage," he added.
Oshell added there were no injuries.
