Students and staff at École St-Pierre have accomplished their mission of helping children removed from their homes by the Children's Aid Society.

The school donated about 80 suitcases, school bags, sports bags and duffel bags — each overflowing with a variety of items like personal hygiene products or comfort items such as stuffed animals and colouring books — to the Children's Aid Society of Sudbury.

“When a child is removed from a home by the Children’s Aid Society, he or she is often forced to leave with only a few personal items in a garbage bag,” said a news release.

The school has been collecting the items since the end of October, and named the initiative Operation Just In Case.
