Cinéfest Sudbury organizers are set to bring co-writer/director Raymond St-Jean’s “Crépuscule pour un tueur” (Dusk for a Hitman) to the big screen as part of the Red Carpet Patron Program.

The film, which was shot entirely in Québec, will screen at SilverCity Sudbury on Wednesday, July 26 at 7 p.m. and will be presented in French with English subtitles.

“Crépuscule pour un tueur” (Dusk for a Hitman) is set in 1979 and follows Donald Lavoie (Éric Bruneau), a fearsome hitman who works under the orders of Claude Dubois (Benoît Gouin), head of the Montreal South-West mob.

Donald is tasked to take under his wing recruit Serge Rivard (Joakim Robillard), a hotheaded small-time crook who soon compromises him in a botched double murder. Donald avoids justice thanks to the Dubois clan's lawyers, but this is only a temporary setback for Detective Sergeant Roger Burns (Sylvain Marcel), who wants to convince Lavoie to become an informer.

To test his hitman's loyalty, Dubois asks him to eliminate someone close to him. Donald disobeys the order and joins forces with other criminals to finance his exile to South America. Hunted by the Dubois clan on one side and Burns' investigators on the other, Donald finds himself caught in a tightening vise.

Individual tickets are on sale now at www.cinefest.com, at the Cinéfest Sudbury Box Office (located at 40 Larch Street, Unit 103), or by phoning 705-688-1234.
