Members of Sound Financial Strategies recently donated $1,000 to the Health Sciences North Foundation to support the hospital's North Eastern Ontario Health Centre for Kids (NEO Kids).

“Knowing full well the impact that a sick child brings to the family, it is our sincere pleasure to make this gift, to make life a little easier,” said David Yurich, president of Sound Financial Strategies, in a press release.

NEO Kids is Health Sciences North’s centre of excellence for children’s outpatient care. Located at the Ramsey Lake Health Centre, NEO Kids provides more than 20 specialized clinics and services to children from across northeastern Ontario. Each year, there are around 35,000 patient visits to NEO Kids.

Health Sciences North is proposing to expand NEO Kids by up to 40,000 square feet. The expansion would allow NEO Kids to both increase the capacity of its existing clinics, and provide new outpatient services for children across northeastern Ontario.

“I want to thank Sound Financial Strategies for this generous donation to NEO Kids. This money is an investment in children’s health, and we’re very grateful to have community partners like Sound Financial Strategies on board” said Dr. Sean Murray, pediatrician and medical director of the hospital’s Family and Child Program, in a press release.
