More cute kids photos! These little ones are ready for kindergarten

'Fantastic way to get children involved in their earliest stage,' says school board director

In partnership with school child care providers, the Sudbury Catholic District School Board helped prepare the youngest learners this summer through the School Readiness Program.

Future kindergarten students successfully completed the program during the week of Aug. 20 - 24 at Holy Trinity School, St. Francis School, St. James school and St. Charles School in Chelmsford.

The week-long program helped introduce children entering kindergarten to the school and allowed them to work on school readiness skills. The program also allowed parents to gain greater understanding about what Sudbury Catholic Schools offer as they support their child in the exciting transition to schools.

“The School Readiness Program is a fantastic way to get children involved in their earliest stages,” said Joanne Bénard, director of education for the Sudbury Catholic District School Board, in a press release.

“The program helps transition our youngest students in fun and engaging ways, while also introducing them to exactly where they will begin their educational journey with us. We look forward to supporting our new learners on their educational journey!”

Students in the School Readiness Program will begin kindergarten when the 2018-2019 school year begins on Sept. 5.
