Motorcycle-riding realtors will participate in the 11th annual Motorcycle Ride for Charity today. Riders will be travelling from Newmarket to Sudbury – with stops along the way in Barrie, Muskoka, and North Bay – to help raise funds for the Ontario Realtors Care Foundation, which supports homeless shelters and charities across the province.

The ride has taken place every summer since 2006, with increasing amounts pledged each year. Since its inception, the riders, along with boards and associations, family and friends have raised more than $322,000, with 100 per cent of these funds going to the foundation, said a news release. This year’s goal is $25,000.

Last year, the foundation gave out $926, 000 in grants to charities across the province. Since its inception, the Ontario Realtors Care Foundation has granted nearly $5.5 million to shelter-based organizations across the province.

The riders will arrive in Sudbury at 5 p.m. at Shoeless Joe’s Sports Grill, 2260 Regent St.
