The city's new Safe Ride Home Sudbury service begins today.

Festive revellers partaking in a few holiday spirits of the Christmas season have only to call the service to get them and their vehicle home safely.

Kicking off the campaign, Safe Ride Home Sudbury joined forces with Greater Sudbury Police Service and Tim Hortons to conduct a RIDE check on Nov. 16.

Safe Ride Home Sudbury operates every Friday and Saturday up to and including New Year's Eve. Phones will be open from 8 p.m. until 3 a.m. Call 705-675-CALL (2255).

Volunteers are still needed. Applications are available at all regular Tim Horton’s stores in the City of Greater Sudbury.

While Safe Ride Home Sudbury is a free service, donations are accepted, with all proceeds going to support local youth programs in the community.
