Several employees of OCP Construction Supplies Inc. took part in the recent cheque presentation to the NEO Kids Foundation. The cheque was presented to Anthony Keating, President and Chief Development Officer, Foundations and Volunteer Groups, Health Sciences North by Rick Cousineau, Co-Owner, OCP Construction Supplies.

The NEO Kids Foundation said it has receive a donation of $250,000 from the Cousineau family of Sudbury and their Northeastern Ontario company, OCP Construction Supplies Inc.

This brings total donations to the foundation, which supports kids’ care at Health Sciences North, to half a million dollars in just over a year, the foundation said.

Company co-owner Rick Cousineau said his family was grateful to have had access to what he said was "the great care and services" provided by NEO Kids program in Sudbury. Cousineau said he hoped it would inspire others to give as well.

“This is our way of giving back to our community and investing in our children’s future. We hope that others, who are able and who have been touched by NEO Kids in some way, will be inspired to give, so that we can ensure that children across our region have access to quality care.”

Anthony Keating, the President of Foundations and Volunteer Groups at HSN, said the donation would be used for the purchase of specialized pediatric equipment.

“We are extremely grateful to the Cousineau family and OCP for their leadership and generosity in supporting NEO Kids’ capital investment for specialized pediatric equipment and technology to provide better patient care,” said Keating.

“They have distinguished themselves as advocates in supporting the needs of our NEO Kids and their giving will have a long-lasting impact on our community.”

Keating remarked that OCP made a $250,000 donation in December of 2020, which also supported high-priority needs in the pediatric program.

As NEO Kids Foundation continues to raise significant funds in the years ahead, donor support is paramount to meeting the future needs of our patient population across the region – with the aim to continue to provide quality care to our tiniest patients as close to home for care, when possible, said the NEO Kids Foundation.
