New Brunswick man charged in relation to Highway 11 crash

A New Brunswick man is charged with making an unsafe lane change in connection to a collision on Highway 11 near North Bay around 9 a.m. on July. Police said the New Brunswick man was driving southbound when he realized he had missed his turn-off.

A New Brunswick man is charged with making an unsafe lane change in connection to a collision on Highway 11 near North Bay around 9 a.m. on July.

Police said the New Brunswick man was driving southbound when he realized he had missed his turn-off. Police say the driver changed lanes to use the "authorized vehicles only" turn around, located just south of North Bay.
 
While changing lanes, he pulled in front of a southbound vehicle in the passing lane, causing a collision.

The 23-year-old driver was charged with unsafe lane change. 

He was also informed the only vehicles authorized to use the turn-around are ambulances, utility vehicles, tow trucks, fire trucks and police cruisers.

One of the involved vehicles had four occupants with one person suffering minor injuries while the second vehicle had three occupants with two people suffering minor injuries.

Sturgeon Falls Collision

Earlier on Friday, around 7 am, OPP say an an improperly secured load on a vehicle which fell off, led to serious injuries for a motorcyclist.

An 18-year-old North Bay man has been charged with "Insecure Load" after something fell off of his vehicle.  
 
A motorcyclist flew off his bike as he attempted to swerve away from the dropped load on the highway.
   
Police say he suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.
