The provincial government is investing in the development of new telecommunications projects in Sudbury that will bring cellular coverage to a number of under-serviced communities and along main highways.

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is providing $105,000 to NetCentral, a community based network that represents the telecommunications interests of the Sudbury, Manitoulin and West Nipissing regions. The investment will help the organization develop new information community technology projects that will bring cellular coverage to the under-serviced areas.

This initiative is part of the government's Northern Prosperity Plan.
