A former Laurentian University Voyageurs hockey player charged with sexual assault in November is due to appear in court on Wednesday, Dec. 28.
Blake Luscombe, 21, was charged with one count of sexual assault under section 271 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Luscombe is no longer a member of the university.
Laurentian Chief of Staff Alex Freedman told Sudbury.com previously he couldn't comment on the situation because of privacy rules. But Sudbury.com has learned the incident took place away from campus and was not connected to any university event or function.
