Good morning, Greater Sudbury.

Here are some stories to start your day.

Sudbury Wolves owner buys a basketball team:

Sudbury Wolves owner Dario Zulich announced Tuesday morning he's purchased a National Basketball League of Canada (NBL) team. The news comes less than a week after Zulich announced he had purchased the Sudbury Spartans football team. This new Northern Ontario franchise has yet to be named. Chelmsford man gets a four-wheeled Roll Up the Rim prize:

Robert Cornett's coffee of choice from Tim Hortons is a large double cream. He gets one on a regular basis. The Chelmsford resident is also a regular winner when it comes to Roll Up the Rim To Win. He's won donuts, free coffee and other small prizes, so imagine his surprise when he rolled up the rim on Feb. 22 and won a new car. When he first rolled up the rim, the thought it said he won a coffee. He had to go get his glasses to read it correctly. He was so excited, he went back and tipped the drive-thru workers $40. While Cornett won the car, he chose not to take the new vehicle, and opted for the buy out option instead.

Elgin Greenway 'sticker shock' gives councillors pause:

While approving plans to renovate the Riverside Drive underpass, Greater Sudbury city council sent the rest of the proposed Elgin Greenway back to the drawing board Monday night. At issue was the cost of the downtown project, which soared from an original estimate of $3.7 million in 2013 to $8.5 million today. The city has already set aside $1 million for the Greenway, while the federal and provincial governments have been asked to contribute $1 million each. Another $300,000 is coming from the Greater Sudbury Development Corp. and the Downtown BIA. Read the full story here.

Pair of northern ridings may be split into three or four new electoral districts:

Northern Ontario may get a few new ridings before the next election, but it will still be far outpaced by the number of new ridings created in the south. The newly established Far North Electoral Boundaries Commission will consult with voters in Kenora-Rainy River and Timmins-James Bay to recommend whether these electoral districts be split into three or four new electoral districts. The riding of Kenora-Rainy River is over 336,783 square kilometres, about the size of Germany. The Commission has three months to complete its work before it submits a report with its final recommendations to the Attorney General by Aug. 1. Find more on this story here.
