No injuries after fire guts home

A fire believed to be electrical in nature caused about $100,000 worth of damage to a home on Auger Avenue on Jan. 23. Greater Sudbury Fire Service responded to the call at 11:09 a.m.
A fire believed to be electrical in nature caused about $100,000 worth of damage to a home on Auger Avenue on Jan. 23.

Greater Sudbury Fire Service responded to the call at 11:09 a.m. Firefighters from New Sudbury, Minnow Lake and Van Horne responded to the house fire at 667 Auger Ave., in Sudbury.

Initial crews discovered the house with smoke coming from the second storey.

Crews entered the home and quickly controlled the fire. It took nearly two hours for the 18 firefighters to fully extinguish the fire.

No injuries were reported, and two people have been displaced from the residence.
