The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is providing $842,086 for internship and co-op work placements in Sudbury.

Today’s funding announcement will result in 33 co-op work placements and internships for Sudbury’s youth.

“Our government is continuing to help young Sudburians prepare for the future by investing in career-related work placements,” said Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci, in a release.

“These on-the-job training opportunities provide experience for those who are seeking to launch and build their careers here in Sudbury.”

Nearly $4.3 million was provided for 218 internship and co-op work placements throughout northern Ontario.

“Our government’s support of work placements is helping our young people develop their careers and find meaningful employment at home while positioning Northern Ontario for future prosperity,” said Bartolucci.

“It’s been said that youth represent one-third of our population and all of our future, therefore an investment in our youth is an investment in our future.”
