NOSM holds info session about physician assistant program

The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) will be hosting an information session Feb. 16 for those interested in applying to the Bachelor of Science physician assistant degree program.
The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) will be hosting an information session Feb. 16 for those interested in applying to the Bachelor of Science physician assistant degree program.

According to a press release from NOSM, physician assistants (PAs) are skilled health professionals who support physicians in a range of health-care settings.

They work alongside physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners and other members of the interprofessional healthcare team.

The program is based in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Medicine.

Training is delivered by the Consortium of PA Education, comprised of the University of Toronto, the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences, and NOSM, with the degree conferred by the University of Toronto.

The information session will take place between 7 and 9 p.m. Those in Sudbury can attend by going to room 119 of the medical school building on the Laurentian University campus.
