Ontario Works cheques available for pickup

Recipients of Ontario Works are asked to pick up their December benefit cheques in person due to the recent Canada Post labour dispute. 

A release from Greater Sudbury on Wednesday said clients must bring photo identification when picking up their cheques.

“Benefits paid through direct bank deposit will be processed as usual,” the release said. “Bank statements will be mailed.”

Clients who usually receive their cheques by mail may pick up their benefit between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Nov. 29 in Provincial Boardroom A, Main Floor, 199 Larch St., Sudbury;
  • Nov. 30, Provincial Boardroom B, Main Floor, 199 Larch St., Sudbury;
  • Dec. 3, 9th Floor, 199 Larch St., Sudbury
Cheques for vendors and direct payments to landlords will be distributed by mail, the release said. Contact the city at 705-675-2411 for more information.
