OPSEU, child and family centre reach collective agreement

OPSEU Local 666 and the Sudbury Child and Family Centre have reached a tentative deal, according to a union official.

OPSEU staff representative Norm Pilon said the agreement was reached Dec. 12 after marathon bargaining sessions which took place Dec.. 9-10 and 12.

He said union members will learn the details of the tentative deal Dec. 14, and will then be able to vote on the deal.

A press release is expected to be issued by the union shortly.

Union president Paul Jalbert was not immediately available for comment, and Dr. Bertrand Guindon, the organization's acting executive director, refused comment.

The roughly 80 workers, who provide mental health treatment for more than 2,300 children and youth in Sudbury, Espanola, Chapleau and Manitoulin, went on strike Nov. 21.
