Residents of Lively who require a passport will be able to get free help from Sudbury MP Glenn Thibeau and his staff at a passport clinic on Nov. 13, at the TM Davies Community Centre.

The clinic is being held from noon to 8 p.m.

"I am once again very pleased to be offering this service," said Thibeau, in a press release.

"Many Sudburians are preparing to go south for a winter vacation or to visit family. With new security measures, all Canadians must have a valid passport to enter the United States."

Two previous clinics held by Thibeau's staff handled more than a thousand applications, before sending them on to Ottawa. There currently is no passport office in Sudbury or northeastern Ontario, with the closest office being located in Toronto.

"We are still processing dozens of passport applications in my office every week," said Thibeau. "Our city is the hub of the northeast and it is simply unacceptable that our entire region is without a passport Canada office."

The clinic is open to all citizens, but is especially targetted towards those who live in Lively, Worthington, Whitefish, and Naughton, said the release.

Residents will need to bring the completed application forms in addition to their birth certificate and copies of two additional pieces of identification.
