People needing to renew or obtain passports can head to a passport clinic at the New Sudbury Shopping Centre this weekend.
The clinic is being hosted by Sudbury MP Glenn Thibeault.
In a press release, Thibeault stated his staff reviewed almost 1,000 passport applications during a similar clinic last fall.
“With March break just around the corner I want to make sure Sudburians have their passports before they head out for that much anticipated vacation,” Thibeault said.
“It's very frustrating that we still don't have a regional passport office in Sudbury to serve the Northeast. I have put forward numerous requests to Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon, but it is obvious that our concerns here in the North are not a priority for the Harper government.”
On Friday, Jan. 28 the clinic will take place between noon and 8 p.m. and on Saturday, Jan. 29 the clinic is scheduled to happen between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Residents applying for a passport are asked to bring their completed application, as well as two photos and proper identification. Applications can be found online at www.ppt.gc.ca/form/index.aspx.
