Liberal mismanagement is letting down seniors and our health care system, says Progressive Conservative candidate Paula Peroni.

“Health care professionals are now on strike because the Liberal government has been unwilling to reach a deal with them since last March, and as many as 32 nurses at Health Sciences North may soon be getting pink slips” Peroni said in a news release. “The Liberals have mismanaged provincial finances and have no idea how to balance the budget except by hurting health care providers and services.

“How many seniors in Sudbury are going to be refused health services because this government wastes money on scandals like eHealth, Ornge, Gas Plants, and MaRS instead of using those tax dollars for priority health care services?” asked Peroni.

“It’s just the same old story of the Liberals making promises they can’t keep. This government keeps spending, where is the money going? Obviously it’s not getting to the front lines where people actually need the help.”

“Seniors on fixed incomes are already being hit by soaring energy bills, the health tax and soon a new carbon tax, but they aren’t being shown any respect by the government,” said Peroni. “They are looking for action and a realistic plan to guarantee they are not abandoned in their golden years.”

“Instead, we have hollow words that can’t be trusted while the Wynne government continues to fire healthcare workers and cut services in order to pay soaring interest payments for their reckless overspending,” said Peroni. “I’ll stand up for Sudbury’s seniors as your MPP, because they deserve our respect.
