Canadian Cancer Society Sudbury and District community manager Cathy Keaney-Burns presented Tanner Levesque, a Grade 8 student, with the provincial Celebrating Impact in Community Youth Leadership award for his outstanding fundraising work in the Greater Sudbury area with his Bike Ride for Lung Cancer. In honour of his late grandfather, Howard Fairbairn of Webbwood, Tanner began Tanner’s Bike Ride for Lung Cancer, biking more than 16 kilometres from his home in Val Caron to the Revenue Canada Taxation Centre in New Sudbury. He has raised more than $11,000 for lung cancer research in the last four years.
