Two more suspects have been identified in relation to a Dec. 1 assault, and arrest warrants have been issued.

The two suspects include Joshua Dominguez, 42, and Daniel Calestagne, 41. Both men are from southern Ontario and have been charged with Assault and Forcible Confinement.

Anyone with information related to the whereabouts of either or both suspects is asked to phone police at 705-675-9171 or to submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 705-222-8477.

According to a media release from GSPS, the original incident was reported to police Dec. 1 at around 1:25 a.m., when officers were dispatched to Durham Street in relation to a weapons complaint.

“Information provided was that an individual was seen beating another individual with a shovel outside of an establishment on Durham Street,” according to the media release.

“The individual believed to be responsible for the attack then went inside the establishment while the injured individual left the area on foot. Officers attended the establishment and were unable to positively identify the individuals involved in the incident.”

Then, the release states that just after 2:15 a.m. officers were dispatched to the hospital as City of Greater Sudbury Paramedics had transported someone who had sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries consistent with the assault that had taken place on Durham Street.

Officers reviewed video surveillance footage of the incident and identified the suspect believed to be responsible for the assault.

This suspect was arrested on Jan. 4.

While reviewing the surveillance footage, police determined that another assault had taken place just prior to the one involving the shovel.

“Officers observed video footage of three individuals holding a person while a fourth individual repeatedly assaulted the person.”

One suspect was the man arrested on Jan. 4, while the other suspect was arrested and charged on Dec. 18.

Calestagne and Dominguez are the final two suspects.
