Greater Sudbury Police are on the scene in Chelmsford where a bear is in a tree on Charlotte Avenue.

Sudbury.com reporter Matt Durnan is on the scene and snapped pictures of the animal in its treetop hideout.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is headed to the scene to help deal with the bear. Charlotte Avenue is near St. Charles Catholic School, a daycare and Chelmsford Public School.

However, there are no reports of the bear being aggressive and officials are acting on the side of caution in planning to remove the animal from the area.
