The Canadian Mental Health Association has set up a program for Greater Sudbury women suffering from post-partum depression with the help of a $158,600 Ontario Trillium Foundation grant.

Eventually, the program will extend beyond Greater Sudbury to North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie and New Liskeard.

"By helping to develop effective tools and programming, this investment will help women with postpartum depression in Greater Sudbury and across northeastern Ontario restore their self-confidence and overcome the misconceptions and stigma related to this condition," said Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci.

"I am certainly looking forward to the good work that will come from this collaborative effort, and know that it will touch the lives of many mothers and families with postpartum depression."
