The province has handed out grants adding up to $23,500 to Sudbury initiatives which involve parents in their children's education.
Parent Reaching Out (PRO) grants support workshops that demonstrate how parents can be more involved in both their children's education and school, outreach run by the school to increase awareness of the importance of parent engagement and translation of materials into the languages of the local community to make information more accessible to parents.
Province-wide, grants totalling nearly $2 million were handed out.
"Parents are an essential partner in helping children succeed in school. These grants will enable parents to get involved in their children's education," said Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci, in a release.
