Updated: Public Health Sudbury updates COVID cases after 'internal error'; 22 cases today

Editor's note: The numbers below have been updated based on the most current information on Public Health Sudbury & Districts' website, as earlier information provided by the health unit was incorrect. Public Health Sudbury issued the following correction notice Saturday evening: "Public Health Sudbury & Districts is advising that due to an internal error, the COVID-19 case data in the Saturday, March 6, 4 p.m. update was incorrect. This error has been corrected and today’s updated COVID-19 case data is available on Public Health’s Current Status page." 

Another 22 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the region by Public Health Sudbury & Districts over the past day.

All of the new cases are in the Greater Sudbury area.

There have now been 766 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the region since the pandemic began.

The number of active cases of the virus in the region now stands at 173, an increase of 19 over yesterday. Three cases of COVID-19 have been resolved in the area since yesterday.

Public Health Sudbury also said another 10 cases in the area have screened positive for a variant of concern.

There are currently no admitted patients at Health Sciences North who have confirmed cases of the virus, although two patients are under investigation for COVID-19.
