Greater Sudbury Police and Greater Sudbury Fire Services are warning all members of the public to stay off area waterways still covered by thin layers of ice following an event Tuesday where three youngsters fell through the ice on a local lake.

The three boys, ages 12 and 13, all fell through the ice, but managed to make it to a beaver hut. They had to be rescued by police and fire personnel and returned to shore.

They were checked by emergency personnel and all three were unharmed.

The ice on all area waterways is not safe and all members of the public are urged to stay off the ice now that spring has arrived.
