With spring (or something like it) around the corner, reduced load restrictions on city roads are coming into effect on March 1 and lasting through the thaw.

The city defines heavy vehicles as any that exceed a gross weight of five tons.

“To reduce the effects heavy vehicles have on roads during the spring thaw, there is a period of reduced loading on certain roads,” the city said in a release.

While the load restriction takes effect March 1 at 12:01 a.m., the end date is determined by road conditions.

All roads covered by half loading are posted with regulatory signs, the city said.
