Northern Life has confirmed that Oscar-winner Richard Dreyfuss is in Sudbury shooting scenes for Jason Priestley's feature film directorial debut, "Cas and Dylan".
Priestly has been spotted in several locations over the summer as he prepared to film his first feature. Dreyfuss has been cast to co-star in the movie, which is being filmed in Sudbury and Calgary, Alta. He will co-star alongside Tatiana Maslany of "Being Erica" fame, an actress who has just been named one of four top rising stars at the Toronto International Film Festival this year.
The film tells the tale of a 61-year-old man who, dying and looking to end his life on his own terms, somehow ends up on the run with a young woman played by Tatiana Maslany of "Being Erica" fame.
The comedy films in Sudbury until mid-September before production shifts over to Calgary.
Dreyfuss, who won an Oscar for his 1977 film "The Goodbye Girl", will play Dr. Cas Pepper in Priestley's film, according to hollywoodreporter.com. The indie film was scripted by Jessie Gabe.
