Riocan Centre store evacuated this afternoon

Firefighters are on scene at the Jay Set store in the Riocan Centre this afternoon after an electrical problem with the store's lights caused the unit to fill with smoke.

Firefighters are on scene at the Jay Set store in the Riocan Centre this afternoon after an electrical problem with the store's lights caused the unit to fill with smoke.

The store, which sells women's clothing, has been evacuated, and fans are being used to clear the smoke, said Platoon Chief George Lalonde.

An electrician will likely be brought in to determine which light caused the problem, he said.
