Save the planet we have: Plastic waste and climate change on tap at No PLANet B tonight at 6 p.m.

Learn how to grow with our planet this Earth Month with Plastic-Free Greater Sudbury and the Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury’s No PLANet B event, taking place 6-9 p.m. this evening at the Vale Living with Lakes Centre.

No PLANet B will explore a variety of topics related to climate change and plastic waste, beginning with the 30-minute documentary “A Plastic Ocean”  from 6-8 p.m. followed by a Climate Change Information Session. 

Attendees are welcome to visit the event at any time, for information and hands-on support in reducing carbon footprint and plastic waste output, as well as developing a voice for action. 

Discussion topics include:

  • Tips to cut down on single-use plastics;
  • Vegan recipes;
  • Tips to reduce food waste;
  • Information on electric vehicles;
  • Planning a route by bus or bike;
  • Speaking up for climate change, and;
  • Turning plastic waste into art.

“People recognize climate change and the amount of plastic waste as urgent problems and are eager to know what they can do,” said co-chair of Plastic-Free Greater Sudbury Liz Anawati, in a press release.

“We are happy to connect people to the local information and resources they need to take meaningful action.”
