Segal to speak in Sudbury

Conservative Senator Hugh Segal will speak in Sudbury Thursday evening at a fundraiser for the Sudbury & Nickel Belt riding associations. Segal finished second to Joe Clark in the 1998 Progressive Conservative leadership election.

Conservative Senator Hugh Segal will speak in Sudbury Thursday evening at a fundraiser for the Sudbury & Nickel Belt riding associations.

Segal finished second to Joe Clark in the 1998 Progressive Conservative leadership election. He had also briefly considered running for the leadership in 1993, while serving as chief of staff to Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.

He was appointed to the Senate in 2005 by former Prime Minister Paul Martin.

At 5:30 pm, Segal will meet with 400 Club members at a private reception taking place in the Ten Lounge at the Ambassador Hotel.

The public reception in the Ambassador Hotel starts at 6 pm, and dinner is at 7 pm. Tickets cost $50 for students, $100 for Conservative party members and $150 for non-members.
