In reaching out to Glencore about the April 16 seismic event, we received the following email from senior communications specialist Yonaniko (Iyo) Grenon:

"In responding to your inquiry, we confirm a 2.5 Nuttli magnitude seismic event occurred on April 16 at 18:07 (time) at our Nickel Rim South Mine, following blasting activity on 1,355 meter level underground. No unusual occurrence impacted our operations during this event," said the email.

"Seismicity occurs as part of mining. We follow our rigorous safety protocols when seismic events occur after a blasting activity and seismicity occurred as expected following a planned blast."
